Volkswagen R as a main sponsor in trail running
Volkswagen R is partnering with Salomon, a sports equipment manufacturer, to support two impressive mountain runs in 2019: The Salomon Zugspitz Ultratrail (15 to 16 June 2019) and the Transalpine Run (31 August to 7 September). As well as being involved in 2019’s race highlights, Volkswagen R will be bringing the challenging mountain sport to Wolfsburg with the Salomon #howtorailrun event series.
Peter Jost, Head of Sales and Marketing for Volkswagen R, is pleased with the collaboration: “Volkswagen R customers are very confident, independent, and like to find something special. Trail running offers them exactly that. We want to bring this unusual sport and our R community closer together; they make a great match.”
The Salomon Zugspitz Ultratrail offers runners the opportunity to prove themselves on the mountain over five different distances from the 25 km Basetrail to the 102.5 km Ultratrail. The race marks the start of the trail running reason in Germany. Furthermore, Volkswagen R will be supporting the organisation of the Transalpine Run later in the summer, where participants will be crossing the Alps over eight days.
Volkswagen R are also supporting Salomon’s #howtorailrun campaign with race days in the Wolfsburg region, bringing the endurance sport to Lower Saxony.
