Eleven out of twelve – Kristoffersson ends
Top qualifier for the eighth time, winner for the eleventh time - Johan Kristoffersson (S) ended the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship (WRX) with another two records. The Swede was once again on top form in Cape Town (South Africa), where he secured his ninth victory in a row with the Volkswagen R Supercar. Kristoffersson had already wrapped up the Drivers’ World Championship ahead of round twelve in South Africa, and PSRX Volkswagen Sweden team had already been confirmed as the champion Team. Kristoffersson’s team-mate and boss Petter Solberg (N) qualified fourth before winning his semi-final to secure second place on the grid for the final. However, despite getting the best start of all six Supercars – earning him the Supercharge Award for the fastest reaction time – he failed to finish the race after a racing accident. Kristoffersson and PSRX both won their respective titles in the World Rallycross Championship for the second time in a row in 2018.
